Data Centre - Project Manager (Pre-Sales)

Berkshire | Hybrid working with UK travel

£70,000–£80,000 basic plus bonus/commission

Are you an experienced Project Manager with the technical knowledge and customer-facing skills to support opportunities from initial conversation through to successful delivery?

We are working with a growing IT infrastructure services business looking to strengthen its technical pre-sales and project delivery capability and this role will be split between technical pre-sales and project management. Working closely with the sales team, you will help identify and develop opportunities, understand customer requirements and shape practical, commercially viable solutions. You will then provide continuity by managing the resulting projects through to successful completion.

The role

• Work alongside the sales team to help qualify and develop new opportunities.
• Attend customer meetings, site surveys and technical scoping sessions.
• Understand customer requirements, operational challenges and business objectives.
• Develop technical solutions, scopes of work and cost estimates.
• Support the creation and presentation of customer proposals.
• Identify delivery risks, dependencies and commercial considerations during pre-sales.
• Ensure proposed solutions are practical, deliverable and commercially viable.
• Manage projects from planning through to successful completion.
• Recommend improvements to project delivery, efficiency, quality and profitability.

About you

• Substantial experience delivering physical IT infrastructure projects within live data centre environments.
• Experience of customer discovery, site surveys, technical scoping and requirements gathering.
• The ability to develop credible, practical and commercially viable solutions.
• Experience contributing to proposals and supporting sales teams in developing or winning new opportunities.
• Broad knowledge of data centre relocations, hardware installations, decommissioning, racks and structured cabling.
• Strong customer-facing, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience managing project budgets, resources, suppliers, risks and customer relationships.
