Finance Specialist - Valencia, Spain/ Onsite - Up to €60,000 gross per annum, depending on experience

An established global manufacturer within the construction machinery sector is seeking a proactive Finance Specialist to join its operation in Valencia.

This is more than a transactional finance position. You will gain broad exposure across financial reporting, analysis, compliance, budgeting and operational finance while working closely with local management and an international Finance Leader.

The role

• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation

• Analyse financial information, investigate variances and identify unusual transactions

• Support the preparation of profit and loss reports, balance sheets, cash flow reports and management information

• Complete bank reconciliations, expense tracking and general accounting activities

• Process supplier invoices, payment requests, employee expenses and reimbursement claims

• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding items

• Support month-end and year-end accounting, including journals, accruals, reconciliations and supporting schedules

• Assist with Spanish VAT, tax and other local financial reporting requirements

• Support annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning

• Monitor expenditure against budgets and report significant variances

• Prepare accurate financial information for local management and international headquarters

• Work with external accountants, tax advisers and auditors

• Help develop and improve financial procedures, processes and internal controls

• Collaborate with Sales, HR, Procurement, Logistics and Operations

• Assist with finance projects, system implementation and other business initiatives

About you

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related subject, a relevant professional accounting qualification, or equivalent practical experience

• Previous experience in a broad, hands-on finance or accounting role

• Good knowledge of Spanish accounting, VAT, taxation and financial compliance

• Practical experience of month-end reporting, reconciliations, journals and accruals

• Confidence working across accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting and cash flow

• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills

• Proactive, ambitious and motivated to take ownership

• Excellent attention to detail and a consistently high level of accuracy

• Fluent written and spoken Spanish and English

• Confident communicating with local colleagues and international stakeholders

• Able to work independently while maintaining regular communication with an internationally based Finance Leader

Experience within manufacturing, machinery, automotive, engineering, distribution or another international product-based business would be advantageous but is not essential.

Experience of inventory accounting, intercompany transactions, international reporting or foreign currency would also be beneficial.
